The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB hasExamination advised all tertiary institutions who had earlier Schedule their Post-Utme Screening exercise to commence after 18th of November to suspend the exercise until the conclusion of the NECO examination which has now been indefinitely postponed in some states.
Earlier in this year 2020 precisely 10th of August, the JAMB board had formerly agreed with the Head of Tertiary institutions in Nigeria that except in extremely impossible cases all institutions Post-Utme Screening exercise are to conducted after 18th of November when the NECO examination would have been concluded.
However due to the recent happenings across the country which has led to the postponement of some papers as well as the overall examination in some states. According to the Board (JAMB) this postponement might affect the release of results which are crucial as this results will be considered in the screening.
Furthermore JAMB stressed the need for suspension of the Post-Utme Screening exercise by adding that any date fixed for continuation of the NECO examination might clash with any of the Post-Utme Screening exercise scheduled to hold any moment from 18th of November.
Finally, the board advises all Head of tertiary institutions especially public institutions who had earlier fixed their Post-Utme exercise to hold immediately after 18th of November to suspend such plan and make another arrangement after the conclusion of the NECO examination.
This in their word will give every candidate the opportunity to attend the screening exercise for Justice and Fairness
