CWUR ranking Nigerian Universities

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) publishes the only academic ranking of global universities based on certain metrics.

CWUR ranks ranks Universities globally based on the following metrics;

Quality of education: This is measured by the number of the university alumni who have won major academic distinctions, awards, etc in relation to the university’s size.(25%)

Alumni employment: measured by the percentage of the Alumni holding executive position at the world’s largest company in relation to the university website. (25%)

Quality of faculty: This is measured by the number of faculty members who have won major academic distinction. (10%)

Research performance without relying on surveys and university data submissions. (30%)

How did Nigerian Universities fared in the latest ranking?
In the lastest CWUR ranking, two Nigerian Universities were ranked among the best Universities in the world.

University of Ibadan UI, ranked the top Nigerian University and the 1167th globally with a total score of 69.3

Meanwhile, University of Nigeria UNN NSUKKA, followed UI as the second top University in Nigeria and 1785th globally with a total score of 66.2

Other African Countries
Based on the CWUR metrics, a total of 17 Universities were ranked in Egypt alone with the best being Cairo University Egypt(546th)

13 Universities were ranked in South Africa with the best among others being University of Cape town(269th)
